  1. Reunion of the National Council of Rectors
    On October 22-25, 2025, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, ASE's Rector and Vice-President of the National Council of Rectors (CNR), participates in the joint reunion of the Romanian CNR and the CNR of the Republic of Moldova. The event is organized in Chisinau (on October 22-23) by the "Nicolae Testemitanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy from the Republic of Moldova, and in Iasi (on October 24-25) by the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iasi.
    The meeting brings together academic leaders from the two countries to discuss strategic topics regarding the future of education and research.
  2. Free-of-charge classes of Microeconomics and Mathematics
    ASE's Management team supports students by organizing free-of-charge online courses in Microeconomics and Mathematics from October 2025 until January 2026. The classes are available on the institutional blended learning platform.
  3. ZF Student - ASE Edition
    On October 16, 2025, ASE hosted the launch event of the program ZF Student - ASE Edition, organized by the Ziarul Financiar for Gen Z youth, future leaders of Romanian economy. The event brought together academics and students, in a dialogue about education, artificial intelligence, research, economy and the future of professions.
    The event was attended by PhD Prof. Dorel Mihai Paraschiv, Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, PhD Prof. Mihaela Alina Dima, Vice-rector for Scientific research, development and innovation, PhD Associate prof. Ionela Costica, Vice-rector for Education.

  4. ASE's presence in academic events in Beijing
    On October 16-19, 2025, PhD Prof. Constantin Marius Profiroiu, Vice-rector for International relations, participated in the reunion of the Institutional Council of the Society for International Comparative Policy Analysis (ICPA) and the Annual Conference of the Asian Association for Public Administration in Beijing, China. Prof. Profiroiu contributed to the conference with the paper entitled "Towards a Comparative Understanding of Resilience in EU Public Administration", and moderates the panel dedicated to "Public Service Delivery and Social Policy".
    During his visit, Prof. Profiroiu met with Prof. Xufeng Zhu, Dean of the School of Public Policy and Management from Tsinghua University, a prominent Chinese university, the event organizer. During discussions, it was agreed to develop a cooperation agreement on comparative public policies, and the exchange of academic staff and Doctoral students.
    Prof. Profiroiu also visited the Beijing University - School of Government, where discussions focused on topics related to joint research on various global socio-economic challenges. Photo gallery...
  5. ASE visited by HORNBACH Founder
    On October 15, 2025, ASE's Rector, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, received the visit of Mr. Albrecht Hornbach, Founder of the HORNBACH Group, accompanied by members of company management, for a constructive dialogue on cooperation directions, for the development of ASE's relations with the business environment. The meeting was attended by PhD Prof. Dorel Mihai Paraschiv, Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, PhD Prof. Mihaela Alina Dima, Vice-rector for Scientific research, development and innovation, and PhD Prof. Cristian Bu?u, Vice-rector for Economic and Financial Management.   6. ASE attended the Award Gala for the Top of Bucharest Companies from Districts 1 and 6
    On October 15, 2025, ASE was represented by PhD Prof. Dorel Mihai Paraschiv, Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, at the Award Gala of the Top of Bucharest Companies from districts 1 and 6, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the City of Bucharest (CCIB). The event brought together representatives of the most competitive companies in the Capital City, along with personalities from the academic and institutional environments. The Gala recognized the activity of the companies that stood out in 2024 through notable economic results, innovative spirit and contribution to the sustainable development of Bucharest.   7. PhD Prof. Ion Popa - DHC of the "Constantin Brancusi" University in Targu Jiu
    On October 15, 2025, PhD Prof. Ion Popa, Dean of ASE's Faculty of Management received the Honorary Title of Doctor Honoris Cause from the "Constantin Brancusi" University in Targu Jiu (UCB).   8. ASE received the visit of the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Romania
    On October 14, 2025, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, ASE's Rector received the visit of His Excellency Mohammed Moustafa Orfy, the new Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Romania. During the discussions, emphasis was laid on the remarkable results of the inter-university collaboration between higher education institutions in Egypt and Romania. Moreover, the possibility of establishing a branch of ASE in Cairo was addressed.

  9. Meeting of Sustainable Development Working Group
    On October 10, 2025, ASE participated in the meeting of the Sustainable Development Working Group within the Black Sea Universities Network. The University was represented at the event by PhD Prof. Mihaela Alina Dima, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Development and Innovation, and PhD Assistant Prof. Elena Preda, Director of ASE's Sustainable Development Research Center. Participants from several partner universities presented their work on sustainable development within their universities, including internal programs, projects, and initiatives. Among the topics addressed, we mention education for sustainable development, cultural sustainability and "green" initiatives on university campuses.   10. ICECO International Conference
    On October 9-11, 2025, ASE hosted the second edition of the International Conference on Economics - Challenges and Opportunities - ICECO, a large event organized by ASE's Doctoral Schools, at the initiative of the Doctoral School in Economics II. The event brought together researchers, Doctoral students and academics from various scientific domains. For the event, 207 full-length papers were received, which shows participants' increased interest in academic research and interdisciplinary dialogue. The program included presentations on current topics in academia and economics, supported by prestigious keynote speakers, parallel sections dedicated to various thematic areas, as well as interactive workshops.   11. The CACTUS 2025 International Conference
    On October 9-10, 2025, ASE's Faculty of Business and Tourism organized the tenth edition of the International Conference CACTUS - Contemporary Approaches and Challenges of Tourism Sustainability. The event was opened in the Aula Magna by PhD Prof. Alina Mihaela Dima, Vice-rector for Scientific research, development and innovation, and the plenary address of PhD Prof. Gabriela Tigu, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Tourism. The program included presentations by leading guest speakers: Dumitru-Dorin Prunariu, DHC of ASE, Romania's first and only cosmonaut, Simona Constantinescu, President of The Federation of the Romanian Hotel Industry (FIHR), Robert Komartin, Head of Travel Sellers Central Europe, Amadeus IT Group.   13. ASE's visit to the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat
    On October 6-10, 2025, a delegation of ASE's University' Senate, led by PhD Prof. Gheorghe Hurduzeu, President of the Senate, performs a visit at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, Morocco, for consolidation of academic cooperation.
    The program includes exchange of best practices in management and research, discussions on doctoral education and institutional development, participation in scientific seminars, as well as interactive sessions with students on leadership, engagement, representation and academic performance. The Mohammed VI Polytechnic University of Rabat is ranked 3rd in Africa in the Times Higher Education 2025 ranking and 1st in North Africa, due to its focus on research and innovation.   14. ASE at the ARACIS Anniversary Conference
    On October 6-7, 2025, PhD Associate prof. Ionela Costica, Vice-rector for Education, and PhD Prof. Ion Popa, Dean of the Faculty of Management, participate in the International Anniversary Conference organized by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education - ARACIS, held in Brasov. The event celebrates the Agency's 20 years of activity in the field of quality assurance in Romanian higher education and reunites representatives of universities, partner institutions and the national and international academic community. On this occasion, ASE conveyed ARACIS a congratulatory message of appreciation and acknowledgement for the latter's significant contribution to the development of higher education in Romania, and an anniversary plaque, as a token of respect and sustainable partnership.   16. Opening of the 2025 - 2026 academic year
    On September 29, 2025, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies organized the Opening ceremonies for the 2025-2026 academic year, attended by the management team, academic staff members, students and special guests.
    The University's management team extended a warm welcome to the new students and wished them success in their new educational journey. At the same time, they reaffirmed the University's commitment to promoting academic excellence and training professionals who are capable of responding to the dynamics of the labor market.
    During the celebration, ASE's management rewarded educational performance by awarding diplomas of merit to students admitted with the highest averages to each Faculty of our University, as well as to representatives of pre-university education institutions, for their remarkable contribution to the molding of high-school graduates who became ASE's students. On this occasion, the active and sustained partnership between pre-university and university education was emphasized.

  2. Inauguration of the "Mihai Eminescu" Building
    On September 29, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies marked the beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year with an important moment in the process of expanding and consolidating its campus in the center of the capital: the inauguration of the "Mihai Eminescu" Building, located on 41 Dacia Boulevard. The building comprises 18 seminar rooms, 6 lecture halls, 8 amphitheaters, 34 laboratories, 6 research centers, a multifunctional room, endowed with modern furniture and high-performance equipment, designed to facilitate efficient and quality educational processes.   3. PhD Prof. Gheorghe Hurduzeu, DHC of ASEM Chisinau
    On September 26, 2025, the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to PhD Prof. Gheorghe Hurduzeu, President of ASE's University's Senate, as a token of appreciation for the exceptional results he has achieved in the field of education and scientific research. During the celebration, the laureate delivered a keynote lecture.
    The ceremony was part of the celebratory events dedicated to ASEM's Day and the 29th International Scientific Conference "Competitiveness and Innovation in the Knowledge Economy". ASE was represented by a delegation consisting of a team of Vice-rectors: PhD Prof. Alina Mihaela Dima, PhD Prof. Cristian Busu, PhD Prof. Dan Dumitrescu, as well as by the director of Council of Doctoral Studies, PhD Prof. Mirela Ionela Aceleanu, representatives of the Senate management, and academic staff members.   4. Meeting with the incoming Erasmus+ students
    On September 26, 2025, PhD Prof. Constantin Marius Profiroiu, ASE's Vice-rector for International relations, and the Erasmus+ team, coordinated by Teodora Fulga, welcomed the 125 incoming Erasmus+ students from Europe, Asia and Africa, who arrived at ASE for a semester of studies.   5. ASE, present at Conference on Romanian economy
    On September 23, 2025, ASE's Rector, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, and PhD Prof. Dorel Mihai Paraschiv, Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment, cooperation with students, participated in the Conference entitled "The need to restructure and reconstruct the Romanian national economy in a changing world", organized by The Association for Economic and Social Studies and Forecasts (ASPES) Romania.   6. ASE won two Silver Medals at the European Universities Chess Championship 2025
    ASE's team won two Silver Medals for rapid and blitz chess at the European Universities Chess Championship 2025 in Yerevan, Armenia, on September 16-20. The silver medal winners were GM David Gavrilescu, student at the Faculty of International Business and Economics, and IM Samuel-Timotei Ghimpu, student at the Faculty of Agrofood and Environment Economics; they ranked second after leading the competition before the penultimate round.   13. QS Romanian Universities Forum
    On September 17, 2025, ASE's Aula Magna hosted the QS Romanian Universities Forum, with ASE as co-organizer.
    This forum provided a valuable opportunity for representatives of Romanian universities to engage in an open and practical debate on current challenges and priorities in higher education. Participants had access to benchmarking tools, data on Romania's global positioning and useful expertise to stimulate the strategic progress of the institutions they represent. An important point on the event's agenda was the panel on "Building Global Presence & Reputation", moderated by Wesley Siqueira - Product and Research Adviser at QS, a panel where ASE was represented by PhD Prof. Constantin Marius Profiroiu, Vice-rector for International Relations.   14. ASE was visited by the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan
    On September 11, 2025, ASE's Rector, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, received the visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Bucharest, H.E. Mr. Gudsi Osmanov. The visit was initiated by PhD Prof. Cristian Busu, Vice-Rector for Economic and Financial Management. The meeting was attended by George-Sergiu Niculescu, President of the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority.     On September 9-12, 2025, a Delegation from ASE participated in the 35th edition of the EAIE Annual Conference and Exhibition in Gothenburg, Sweden.     On September 10, 2025, ASE's Aula Magna hosted the Conference entitled "Strengthening and Innovating Health Systems in Romania: Integrating medical services and expanding the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases within the penitentiary system", organized by the Romanian National Penitentiary Administration (ANP).     The "School of Modern Finance" Program takes place on September 6-14, 2025, and is organized by the National Bank of Moldova, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) and ASE.   19. ASE is getting ready to start the new academic year in modernized facilities
    ASE is making intense preparations for the start of the 2025-2026 academic year in modernized facilities. As such, the "Mihai Eminescu" building and the construction site on Calea Grivitei were visited by PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, Rector, PhD Assoc. prof. Ionela Costica, Vice-Rector for Education, PhD Prof. Paul Pocatilu, Vice-Rector for Development of the IT infrastructure and logistics, deans, deputy-deans, and the administrative management teams.   21. Partnership for extension of International Academic Cooperation
    On September 2, 2025, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, ASE's Rector, and PhD Prof. Constantin Marius Profiroiu, Vice-Rector for International relations, received the visit of an official delegation from The Egyptian Academy of Computers, Information and Management Technology (Tanta, Egypt), led by Prof. Ahmed Khamis, President of the institution.
    The meeting resulted in the signing of memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at strengthening academic and research relations between the two institutions. The agreement provides for exchanges of academic staff and students, the undertaking of joint scientific projects, double degree Master's study programs, cooperation in the field of Doctoral studies, the organization of seminars, workshops and other academic activities of common interest.     On July 10-11, 2025, the 12th Official Internship Program of the Government of Romania was organized in partnership with ASE, and hosted by our University's "Ion Gh. Rosca" Training Complex Center in Predeal.   5. Event hosted by the Aula Magna
    On July 4, ASE's Aula Magna hosted a festive event dedicated to the "Penitentiary Administration Personnel Day". The event brought together members of the National Penitentiary Administration management, representatives of the Ministry of Justice, partner institutions and non-governmental organizations, academics, active or reserve personnel from the penitentiary administration system, as well as representatives of trade union organizations.
    During his address, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Radu Marinescu, highlighted the fundamental role of penitentiary administration personnel in the functioning of the justice system and in strengthening citizens' trust in institutions with responsibilities in the field of public order and safety.   6. The 6th edition of the program entitled "Becoming a leader"
    During June 30 - July 4, 2025, ASE's "I. Gh. Rosca" Training Complex Center in Predeal hosted the 6th edition of the program entitled "Becoming a Leader", organized by ASE in partnership with the Future of Leadership Institute, and representatives of the business environment, with the support of PhD Prof. Dorel Mihai Paraschiv - Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students. Addressed to ASE's students from all education cycles - Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral levels, the program aimed to develop leadership skills, strengthen interpersonal collaboration and prepare participants for labor market insertion.   7. ASE received the visit of the President of California State University Fresno, USA
    On July 2, 2025, ASE's Rector, PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, and the Vice-rector for International relations, PhD Prof. Constantin Marius Profiroiu, received the visit of Saul Jimenez, President of California State University Fresno, USA. The meeting was also attended by PhD Associate prof. Irina Petrescu, who visited the partner institutions in 2023, together with colleagues from the Faculty of Agro-food and environmental Economics. It was convened for the two parties to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and an Erasmus+ Agreement, to develop academic cooperation in areas such as food security, agro-business, cybersecurity, as well as to facilitate academic staff and researcher mobility.     We are pleased to announce that our University has become an Associate Member of CIVIS Alliance of European Universities, marking an important milestone in strengthening BUES' internationalisation process and increasing its external prestige.

    On May 12-14, 2025, the 8th edition of the FoodIntelForum was organized, a leading event in agribusiness, food production, beverage production, retail and HoReCa. On May 14, ASE hosted the debates, opened by PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, Rector.
    The event benefited from the presence of managers of leading companies in Romania, international experts, representatives of central and local authorities, and academia, who tackled topics related to the automation of "from farm to fork" processes: AI and food product traceability; multiplying money in agribusiness, the impact of new investments for modernization, sustainability, protectionism, cross-border production; identifying business opportunities and effective solutions for the multiple challenges generated by the current economic and political context.

    On May 7, 2025, ASE's Faculty of Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics received the visit of 21 pupils, winners of School Olympiads, part of the educational-vocational program "The Olympian's Club of Alexandria - Intelligent Romania", initiated by Antena 3 CNN and the Town Hall of the Municipality of Alexandria.   2. ASE hosted the launch of the first motivational AI in the field of public education
    On April 9, 2025, ASE's Aula Magna hosted the launch event for Saro - the first motivational AI in the field of public education. The event reunited 200 participants, among which we mention: the Minister of Education and Research, PhD Prof. Psych. Daniel David, PhD Prof. Dorel Paraschiv, ASE's Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, Elisabeta Moraru, Country Director Google Romania, representatives of the academic and business environments. More than 100 students from ASE's Faculty of Marketing have already expressed their agreement to interact with Saro, and the initial feedback indicates a large interest in this application. At Faculty level, a mixed student-teacher working group has been put in place, to track and analyze the impact of implementing Saro, under the supervision of the Dean, PhD Prof. Ioana Cecilia Popescu, and Deputy-dean PhD Prof. Mihai Ioan Rosca. The initiative aims to reduce the university dropout rate, increase student satisfaction and provide personalized support, through artificial intelligence, for up to 1000 students.     On April 9, 2025, the University of Latvia hosted the works of the UNICA Rectors' Panel under the title of "Competitiveness & Inclusiveness in R&I in Europe: a UNICA perspective". The Bucharest University of economic Studies was represented at the event by PhD Prof. Dan Gabriel Dumitrescu, Vice-rector for the Management of Human Resources and European Funds.     On April 8-10, 2025, ASE's Delegation led by PhD Prof. Nicolae Istudor, Rector, participated in the Eurasia Higher Education Summit - EURIE, in Istanbul, Turkey. EURIE is an annual international conference and exhibition aimed at connecting the dynamic higher education sector from the Eurasia region to the entire world.     On April 3-4, 2025, ASE organized the Annual Students' Conference, a traditional event aimed at promoting scientific research in higher education, organized as part of the celebratory events dedicated to the University's 112th Anniversary since its establishment on April 6, 1913. The panels organized by all of ASE's Faculties brought together an impressive number of students and academics, in an environment that fosters scientific dialogue, critical thinking and innovation. The papers presented reflected the current interests of students in areas of maximum relevance in economic and social sciences, thus contributing to the consolidation of the research culture among young people.   1. ASE and BRD inaugurated a new educational hub
    On March 26, 2025, ASE and BRD Groupe Societe Generale inaugurated a new educational hub in the Virgil Madgearu Building, headquarters of the Faculty of Economic Cybernetics, Statistics and Informatics. This co-working and co-learning space is part of the BRD HUBs network, and is intended for students who want to participate in educational events or collaborate on topics such as career, technology, finance, sustainability or entrepreneurship. The hub, with a capacity of over 100 users, offers free wireless internet access. The project strengthens the partnership between ASE and BRD, supporting the professional development of young people.     On March 24-28, 2025, a Delegation from ASE participates in the APAIE 2025 Conference in Delhi, India, under the aegis of the Study in Romania program.     On February 28, 2025, the General Assembly of the Association of Faculties of Economics from Romania (AFER) was hosted by ASE at its "Ion Gh. Rosca" Training Center Complex in Predeal. The agenda included: discussions on and approval of the AFER Annual Report for January-December 2024, and various other reports, the membership application of the Faculty of Entrepreneurship, Business Engineering and Management from the Politehnica University.     On February 14-23, 2025, the National Individual Classical Chess Championships were held in Craiova. CSU ASE's players obtained remarkable results - David Gavrilescu is the national men's champion (for the first time in his career) and has qualified for the Grand Chess Tour International Circuit, while Luminta Cosma is the national women's champion (for the fourth time in her career) and a member of Romania's chess Olympiad team.     On February 12, 2025, a working meeting was held dedicated to the presentation of ASE's professional internship platform, an innovative project aimed at digitalizing and streamlining the specialized professional practice for students.
    The event was attended by PhD Prof. Dorel Mihai Paraschiv - vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, PhD Prof. Paul Pocatilu - Vice-rector for the Development of IT infrastructure and logistics, the Deans of ASE's Faculties, the Deputy-deans in charge with Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, as well as Chess Coders - the development team for the application.
    This initiative is supported by KPMG, through ASE's Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems, and its main objective is to assist with the modernization and simplification of the professional internship process, offering students, professors and internship partners an intuitive and efficient digital tool. The new platform facilitates the management of all aspects of professional practice, from identifying relevant opportunities to monitoring progress, thus reducing administrative burdens and improving the user experience.

  11. Deloitte Gala Romania Best Managed Companies
    On February 12, 2025, the 3rd Deloitte Gala Romania Best Managed Companies held in the Bragadiru Palace reunited representatives of more than 30 companies. Six of the latter were newly certified, while 14 were recertified.
    ASE was represented at the vent by PhD Prof. Dorel Mihai Paraschiv, Vice-rector for Liaison with the social and business environment and cooperation with students, who acted as a member of the jury who evaluated the companies and decided on the winners, according to a methodology based on criteria such as strategy, resources and innovation, culture and commitment, governance and finance.   13. Excellence Award
    The National Robotics Team of Romania was ranked First and obtained the Excellence Award at the Kuwait National Robotics Competition, held on February 8-9, 2025. The Romanian team thus qualified for the college and university competition, affiliated to ASE, at the largest and most prestigious robotics competition - the World Robotics Championship, which is to be held in Dallas, USA, in May. The team coordinated by PhD Teaching assistant Ionut Panea, ASE's Faculty of Finance and Banking, obtained the highest scores and decisive victories in the February competition.   14. Workshop on "Entrepreneurial Ecosystems: From vision to action"
    On February 5-6, 2025, ASE's Student Entrepreneurial Society (SAS ASE) organized the workshop entitled "Entrepreneurial Ecosystems: From vision to action", which benefited from the participation of international trainer Daniela Marzavan and the new SAS team, led by PhD Assistant prof. Stere Stamule. 27 academics from ASE actively participated in the two Design-Thinking sessions and elected the SAS experts and mentors' team for the current year. The workshop followed the Quadruple Helix Model of Regional Innovation, with participants benefitting from people-centered design principles to learn and apply a methodology that stimulates innovation and turns ideas into solutions.   15. Launch of S.T.E.P. Project
    On February 10, 2025, ASE announces the launch of the S.T.E.P. project - Supporting Talent through Visionary Education. The project is co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) through the Education and Employment Programme 2021-2027, and aims to create an institutional framework that facilitates equal and informed access to higher education for young people at risk. The project aims to assist young high school students through intensive preparation for the Baccalaureate exam, counseling and mentoring, to facilitate transition to university studies; moreover, at university level, the project aims to facilitate mentoring provided by graduates, business representatives and employers, so as to contribute to an easier integration of students into the academic environment and the labor market.
  16. Launch of research study
    On February 6, 2025, ASE's Aula Magna hosted the launch of the research study entitled "The Romanian tax system: prosperity, convergence and fiscal and budget sustainability", undertaken by a team of academics following the request of the Concordia Employers' Confederation. The study aims to evaluate the impact of the flat tax rate on the evolution of the Romanian economy, from its adoption to the present, and the need to develop several scenarios for adjusting this rate, in the context of public discussions about the reform of the tax system.   7. Book Launch event
    On January 13-17, 2025, ASE's Publishing House participates in the Book Fair organized by the "Gheorghe Lazar" National College, on the occasion of the latter's 165th Anniversary.
